Lux Aeterna will be premiered at the 20th Biennial of Brazilian Contemporary Music

The work is based on Latin, Chinese and Japanese texts about life and death


Lux Aeterna (Eternal Light) will be premiered on October 1st at the 20th Biennial of Brazilian Contemporay Music.

Mezzo soprano Carolina Faria, oboist Victor Astorga and the Radamés Gnattali String Quartet (above) will perform the work at the Leopoldo Miguez Concert Hall of the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro.

Lux Aeterna was commissioned by the festival. It is written for mezzo, English horn/oboe, and string quartet, based on the texts of the Requiem Mass and on Japanese and Chinese poems about life and death.
